Main Menu

While these are the sample data entry forms and reports from the Demo version, they contain the same features and functionality you would receive in your version. Please keep in mind that each buyer gets their own version of MIST to have customized to their needs. While minor changes do not usually increase costs, some major customizations specific to your needs could increase costs and you will be given a fixed cost quote for your prior approval.

Click on the Main Menu choices below to display those features.

Mass Calendar

If you are at the Main Menu and you wish to add and/or schedule Intention Requests; or maintain the Mass Intentions Calendar click on the button to open the Mass Calendar form.

The Mass Calendar form is divided into a left and right pane. The left pane is very similar to the Mass Intention Requests form with two major differences. First, with this form the Intention Requests can be Manually Scheduled by you to a specific Mass. For instance, a request was unable to be Auto-Scheduled when first entered using the Mass Intention Requests form for some reason, say a Mass date was not open. The Requestor then says to you to pick an open Mass as near to that date as possible. When you open the Mass Calendar form you see the unscheduled request in the left pane. Using the right and left Arrowhead buttons on the right pane lets you move backward and forward in the Mass Calendar, and when you see an open Mass date you then click on the Mass row to select it and then click on the Schedule Intention button in the left pane to assign the Intention to that Mass you selected in the right pane. Second, you are unable to Search through the Intention Requests with this form as you can with the Mass Intention Requests form. NOTE: Although you may enter information in the Location, Time, Intention, Celebrant and Comment fields of a Mass row showing on the right pane that data entered does not constitute the creation or scheduling of an actual Intention Request. That can only be done using either the left pane (Mass Intentions to be Scheduled) or the Mass Intention Requests form.

The Confirm. button can be used to print a confirmation of the Intention showing the scheduling and, optionally, as a receipt for a donation (the Confirmation is opened in Print Preview mode; click on the Print toolbar to send to the printer; click on the Close Print Preview to return.).

The Mass Calendar form also provides a method to insert an extra Mass or Intention slot into the Mass Calendar. For instance, a wedding or funeral or holy day requires a one-time Mass to be said at a date and time not part of the normal weekly schedule. Add this Mass by a click on the Insert Extra Masses/Intentions button. Enter the Mass Date, Mass Time, select the Mass Type, and Location (these are all required entries) and the other fields as needed. When done click on the Save and Close buttons. Back on the Mass Calendar form you can now go to the right pane and move to the week of the extra Mass/Intention and see it ready to be scheduled. At this point you might enter the Intention for the wedding, funeral, etc. on the left pane and schedule the Intention to the extra Mass.

Mass Intention Requests

If you are at the Main Menu and you wish to search through Mass Intention Requests click on the button to open the Mass Intention Requests form. This form is primarily used to maintain Mass Intentions once entered into MIST.

When you first open the Mass Intention Requests form you will be displaying the first request entered. If you have not entered any requests yet then you will be in add new request mode. Click the New button to add a new request. If you want to cancel this action (i.e. you want to look at another request or close the form) click on the Undo toolbar button. Fields with a yellow background are required entry. Fields with a red label are filled-in by the software for you. Dropdown pick lists have a down key for making your selection. However, you may type the individual letters of the selection and if it matches a value it will automatically complete itself. Any of the checkbox type fields can be set to a check by either clicking inside the checkbox or typing a Y or y and unchecked by typing an N or n.

The Show Filters section allows you to search and track requests. You can filter out requests based on Intention for; Requested by; Donation being received; Intention being scheduled; Requestor/Addressee being notified and Intention being celebrated. To clear the filters and display all requests click on the Reset button or Hide Filters. To print a preview or a hardcopy of the filtered set of requests click on the Print button. Move through the filtered set by using the arrow buttons.

If the Auto Schedule feature is enabled:

A requestor may have a preferred date, time, day, location, celebrant or language for their Intention. Use the Preferences section to attempt to locate a Mass that meets their request. The Priorities are used to control the order in which Preferences are searched. At least the 1st Priority must be selected from the list. If the requestor cannot obtain their 1st Priority then a search will be done on their 2nd Priority (if selected) and if not available then on their 3rd Priority (if selected). The Priorities available for each search are similar to the Preferences plus there are some useful combinations of Preferences, ie: Date&Time, Time&Day, Time&Day&Location, etc.

Note: If you wish to bypass auto-scheduling a request then you will need to manually schedule the request using the Mass Calendar form.

If the Auto Schedule button is pressed and an open Mass can be located that meets the Preferences section the Intention is then assigned to the Mass and the Mass information is displayed in the Scheduled section.

To schedule the Intention to the first available open Mass leave the Preferences section blank. Then click on the Auto Schedule button; the Intention Request will be assigned to the first available Mass and the Mass scheduling information is displayed in the Scheduled section.

If you want to clear a scheduled Intention and the Mass date/time has not already passed then click on the Clear Schedule button. You can now schedule the Intention to a different Mass.

The Duplicate button can be used to open a new request and copy over most of the current request’s information. The new request would need to be scheduled using a new set of Preferences. This is useful to save keystrokes and reduce keying errors.

To delete a request it must not be scheduled or already celebrated. You then click on the Delete button and when you exit the request; the data will be either just deleted or transferred and can be displayed from the Archived Mass Intention Requests form. Note: Intention Request deletion cannot be reversed.

The Print Confirmation button can be used to print a confirmation of the Intention showing the scheduling and, optionally, as a receipt for a donation (the Confirmation is opened in Print Preview mode; click on the Print toolbar to send to the printer; click on the Close Print Preview to return.).

To get helpful instructions in searching through the requests click on the Search Help button.
